Robles Solis shines at Midwest Open to close out the fall season for the Storm

ST. PETER, Minn. - Javier Robles Solis highlighted the Storm play at the Midwest Open, reaching the round of 16 in both the individual and doubles tournament over the weekend.

Robles Solis' action began with a bye in the round of 128 before facing Kellen Jones of Wartburg in the round of 64. Robles Solis dispatched his opponent 6-3, 6-2 to advance to face Maxwell Davis of Macalester. The junior earned his second victory behind a 6-2, 6-4 effort to advance another round to the round of 16. The momentum ended there, falling in a contest match 7-6, 6-3 to Juan Diego Carpio of Grinnell.

However, the action was not over for Robles Solis, as he and Grant Love teamed up for the doubles tournament. The pair bested their opponents from Bethal in the opening round in a drama-packed 8-7 result. In the round of 32, the pair was victorious again, knocking off the duo from Concordia-Moorhead 8-5 before falling in the round of 16 to a team from Luther.

The Midwest Open marked the final competition of the fall for the Storm before they resume action next spring.
