Storm notch 3-2 win over Coe on Senior Day, move on to A-R-C Tournament

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Taking the field at Buxton Stadium for the final time in the 2024 regular season, the Storm rolled to a 3-2 victory over Coe on Tuesday night.

Simpson (8-8-2, 4-3-1 A-R-C) jumped out to the early lead off the leg of leading goal scorer Ronaldo Ordaz. Tim Sedlock added to the lead before halftime, before Doug Vander Linden put in what proved to be the difference maker. Coe (6-11-1, 2-6-0) managed to get two on the board before Simpson locked down defensively and secured the win.

GOAL SUMMARY

  • In the 21st minute, after a throw-in for the Storm, the ball bounced directly to Ordaz out on the corner of the box, who connected to the far post for his ninth goal of the season.
  • With less than four minutes in the half, Sedlock worked the ball down the near sideline and after a misplay from the Coe defense, Sedlock found himself wide open with an open net, scoring his second goal of the season.
  • Out of halftime, a corner piece for the Storm set up corner taker Brayden Sithonnorath, who found Sedlock in the box. Sedlock headed the ball to Vander Linden who scored his first career goal on senior day.
