Neumann named IIAC Player of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Simpson soccer player Tyler Neumann earned Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, Sept. 2, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Neumann, a freshman forward from Johnston, Iowa, scored three goals and distributed two assists in wins over Crown (11-0) and Bethel (3-0) to open the season. He had two goals and one assist against Crown and a goal and an assist against Bethel.

Simpson's 11 goals against Crown are the most by a Storm team since 2004.

The Storm improved to 3-0 with a 2-0 win over Grinnell on Wednesday and take the pitch next on Saturday, Sept. 8 when they host Millikin in a 7 p.m. start at Buxton Stadium.
