Five-run seventh dooms Simpson in loss to Buena Vista

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Buena Vista used a five-run seventh inning and strong relief pitching to eke out a 6-5 win over the Simpson College baseball team on Friday evening.

Buena Vista took the lead on another single, and relief pitchers Brayden Polzien and Calvin Harris shut Simpson (11-10, 2-5 A-R-C) down the rest of the way.

Luke Willis plated two runs for the second-straight game to lead the Storm. He singled to shortstop to score Chris Miller in the first inning and gave Simpson a 4-1 lead with an RBI groundout in the fourth.
