
Kline, Williams named SC ESPY Newcomers of the Year
INDIANOLA, Iowa – At the conclusion of two highly-successful freshman campaigns, Zach Kline (men's soccer) and Emily Williams (women's volleyball) have been named the 2023-24 SC ESPY Male and Female Newcomers of the Year.

Kline had a fantastic debut season for the Storm, scoring four goals and dishing out four assists in 16 games. The freshman standout ranked second on the team in points with 12 and was named to the All-American Rivers Conference Honorable Mention Team.
Kline saw his campaign start off with a bang in the team's season opener, scoring two goals and recording an assist in a 4-1 win over Augustana (Ill.). He also had an impressive outing in the team's A-R-C opener against Central, helping the Storm to a 3-1 victory with a goal and an assist.
Emily Williams, women's volleyball
Williams played a pivotal role in the Storm women's volleyball team finishing top four in the conference and advancing to the A-R-C Semifinals for the first time since 2010. She compiled 289 kills, 156 digs, 48 blocks, 17 aces and 10 assists during her first season, ranking fourth in the conference with 3.03 kills per set in league play.
Williams landed on three all-tournament teams and was one of three freshmen to earn a spot on the All-American Rivers Conference First Team. She recorded six double-doubles and had 14 games with at least 10 kills.
