Simpson Adjusts 2021 Indoor Event Attendance Policy

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- At this time, Simpson College will begin allowing 25 students that can attend home contests inside Cowles Fieldhouse starting Monday, Feb. 22.

The general public, faculty and staff are still not permitted to watch contests in-person, while student-athletes and coaches from both teams will be permitted two spectators that can attend, in addition to the 25 students. All spectators will be required to wear a mask and maintain a distance of six feet from others.

There will be a lottery system to determine which students can watch the game in-person. Students will be able to sign-up for the game 48 hours prior to the contest through an email that will be sent out, and the drawing will take place 25 hours before the event. Students will be notified shortly after the drawing if they have secured a seat at the game. Only one sign-up is allowed per student per contest, multiple submissions will have that person removed from consideration for that event.

All spectators (including students) must use the southwest doors that enter into the arena near the D Street entrance and will be allowed to take their seats one hour prior to the start time. Students must have their Simpson College ID with them to enter the game and sit in the predetermined area in the south bleachers.

Students will not be able to leave the arena at halftime and return to the event; students who choose to leave will not be allowed to return. Students will also not be allowed to bring in food or drinks.

All policies are subject to change and Simpson will continue to monitor in-person attendance inside Cowles Fieldhouse. Visit SimpsonAthletics.com to stay up to date with schedule information and watch home contests through our livestream channel. Click HERE to access the streaming portal.
