2012-13 Storm Top 10: No. 8
The countdown continues at No. 8 with Jennifer Gaffney's title at the Iowa Conference Women's Golf Championship.
Gaffney captured medalist and IIAC Golfer of the Year honors and the women's golf team placed third to close out the Iowa Conference Championship on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Leading by a stroke entering the day, Gaffney carded an 86 to finish at 324, two strokes ahead of Loras' Abby Potts. The senior fired the low round of the tournament with a 72 in the opening round and fell into a tie for third after the opening weekend at Pheasant Ridge in Cedar Falls.
Gaffney became fourth individual from Simpson to be named Iowa Conference Women's Golfer of the Year, totaling a league-high nine honors. She is also the seventh Simpson golfer to earn medalist honors and the first since Janelle Claiborne in 2004. It is the 10th time a Simpson golfer has earned medalist honors since the tournament began in 1982.
