Gaffney ties for second at Central

PELLA, Iowa – Jennifer Gaffney shot an 11-over 83 on Saturday to finish tied for second at the Central Invitational.

Gaffney shaved two strokes from her effort on Friday to finish at 168 for the weekend, tied with Alex Plermmons of Grinnell.

Central's Taylor Hill won the tournament with a 36-hole score of 153.

Simpson finished fourth of six teams, shooting 734. Grinnell won the team race with a 691, followed by Central (696) and Loras (728). Coe took fifth (774) and Dubuque (782).

Stacy Bergeson shot an 87 on Saturday, a six-stroke improvement from Friday. She finished the tournament at 180, tying for 11^th.

Jessica Lerdal (99, 91, 190) tied for 19^th, Molly Hill (96, 96, 192) placed 23^rd, Kiley Wermersen (98, 98, 196) tied for 26^th, Jamie Knock (109, 101, 210) took 34^th, Allison McArtor (116, 105, 221) tied for 37^th and Lesley Pearey (117, 107, 224) came in 39^th.

Simpson's final tournament before the Iowa Conference Championships is the Mount Mercy Invitational on Sept. 21, 22.
