Storm cross country teams earn all-academic distinction

NEW ORLEANS – The Simpson College men's and women's cross country teams both earned All-Academic awards from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, and a quartet of runners were named All-Academic Individuals.

For a team to be considered for this honor, it must have compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale. The men captured a seventh-place finish at the meet and posted a 3.46 GPA during the season, while the women placed ninth and combined for a 3.49 GPA.

In addition to the team awards, Harry Dudley, Louden Foster, Cat Lucht, and Spencer Moon earned All-Academic distinction as individuals. To qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 and finish in the top-25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.
