Kallem, Angus pace Storm in final tune-up before conference

WEST SALEM, Wis.. -- In their final tune-up before the American Rivers Conference Championships, Lara Kallem and Emma Angus paced the Simpson College women's cross country team to a ninth-place finish at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational on Friday evening.

The Storm finished with 256 points in the field of 20 teams and 283 runners.

"Our women ran tough tonight and it's rewarding to see the growth they have made over the last couple of years," Moenck said. "They are running at a level we haven't ran at in a long time, and it was great to see Lara Kallem run as well as she did. We're in a great spot as we head into the championship portion of our season."

Kallem and Angus each posted their season-best times to lead the Storm in the race. Kallem crossed the finish line in 23:43.68 to place 52nd, while Angus finished the 6K in 23:47.24 to place 55th.
