Aronow reaches milestone in loss to Wartubrg

WAVERLY, Iowa — Kayla Aronow recorded her 1,000th career dig but the Simpson volleyball team couldn't pull off an upset in a three-set loss to Iowa Conference-leading Wartburg, losing 25-15, 25-17, 25-14 on Saturday.

Aryn Jones had 12 kills and five solo blocks to lead the Knights (17-5, 6-1), who won their third match in a row.

Hannah Lester led Simpson with six kills, followed by Elisa Wildy with five. The Storm (9-13, 1-6) struggled against Wartburg's block, hitting just .010 in the loss.

Aronow had eight digs Saturday, giving the junior 1,003 for her career. She is the 16th player in Simpson history to reach 1,000 career digs.

Simpson was officially eliminated from IIAC Tournament contention with the loss.
