Dunlavy earns second IIAC honor

INDIANOLA – Megan Dunlavy earned Iowa Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 31, leading Simpson to a perfect 3-0 week. 

Dunlavy – a junior middle hitter from Bettendorf – picked up the award for the second time in October, the first coming Oct. 17. She led Simpson with a .433 hitting percentage in wins over Cornell, Buena Vista and Grinnell.

In those three matches, Dunlavy totaled 48 kills against only three errors in 104 attempts. In a five-set win against Buena Vista, she totaled a season-high 23 kills. In a 3-0 win against Grinnell, she had a game-high 14 kills with no errors in 27 attempts.

Dunlavy finished the month of October with a team-best 201 kills, hitting .307 as the Storm went 10-8 and finished the conference season on a four-match winning streak. Simpson went 16-16 on the season, going 5-3 in the Iowa Conference, tied for third.
