Storm handle Dubuque in three sets

DUBUQUE - Amy Schuster had 17 kills, Simpson hit .310 as a team and the Storm rolled to a convincing 3-0 sweep of Dubuque on Tuesday night.

The Storm (10-14, 3-3 IIAC) evened their conference record with the win, posting 25-21, 25-10 and 25-19 wins over Dubuque.

Schuster's (Indianola, Iowa) 17 kills came against only three errors in 30 attempts, giving her a game-high .467 hitting percentage. Megan Dunlavy (Bettendorf, Iowa) added nine kills while McKaylie Croghan (Manning, Iowa) chipped in with six.

Ashley Padget (Ankeny, Iowa) ran the offense to the tune of 33 assists, adding a pair of service aces. Defensively, Monica Driscoll (Williamsburg, Iowa) scooped 17 digs and Kelsy Albers (Swea City, Iowa) had two block assists and a block solo.

Still in search of their first conference victory, the Spartans (7-20, 0-6 IIAC) hit .106 on the night. Lauren McKissick led the way with 12 kills.

The Storm remain home this weekend, hosting the six-team, Simpson Invitational beginning Friday afternoon.
