Dunlavy named IIAC Player of the Week
INDIANOLA - Megan Dunlavy's effecient attack helped the Simpson volleyball team to a 3-2 week as she earned Iowa Conference Hitter of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 17.
Dunlavy, a junior middle hitter from Bettendorf, hit .419 for the Storm which picked up a conference win against Dubuque last Tuesday. The sociology major compiled 50 kills against only six errors in 105 attempts on the week, and her .632 hitting percentage against St. Olaf ranks 10th-best for a three-set match in program history.
On the season, Dunlavy leads the team with a .263 hitting percentage and is second with 268 kills. Her 34 service aces is also tops on the team.
The Storm recognize their five seniors Wednesday night as Simpson takes the floor for its final conference home match of the season against Coe at 7:30 p.m.
