Storm women complete final preparations for conference championships

WAVERLY, Iowa - Strengthened with multiple season and personal bests, the Simpson College women's track team completed its final preparations before the conference championships at the Wartburg Triangular.

The Storm were led by the hurdles and relay teams. Maddie Hays and Maddax DeVault each set new personal bests in the 400 meter hurdles and the duo were also part of the 4x100 relay team that ran a time that was good for second in school history.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hays clocked a time of 1:03.21 in the 400 meter hurdles, a new personal best that ranks her 19th in Division III this season.
  • DeVault was right behind Hays in a time of 1:04.49, with both athletes now ranking in the top five in the event in school history.
  • Hays and DeVault joined teammates Audrey Arnold and Bianca Clemons in recording a time of 48.39 in the 4x100 meter relay, the second-fastest time in school history.
  • Anna Parrott and Arnold claimed bronze medals in their respective events, with Parrott recording a new season-best long jump of 5.08 meters.

UP NEXT
The Storm will begin competition at the American Rivers Conference Championships next Thursday in Lincoln, Neb.
