Storm duo obliterate outdoor 10,000 meter school record

LA CROSSE, Wis. - Lara Kallem and Teghan Booth of the Simpson College women's track and field team both smashed the school record in the outdoor 10,000 meters on Saturday evening.

The duo continues to reset the Storm record book, with each athlete holding a school record in at least one event. Kallem finished as the top collegiate finisher (second overall) in a time of 35:10.24, passing Jen Wendt's previous record of 37:21.05 set in 2006 by over two minutes. Booth took third overall in the race with a time of 35:23.22, easily passing the previous mark as well.

"What a performance by Lara and Teghan," said Storm director of cross country and track and field Heath Moenck. "For them to shatter the school record both by two minutes and be sitting in the top 15 in the NCAA is incredible. I couldn't be more proud of their efforts and happy for all of their success."
