Distance runners lead Storm at Nebraska Wesleyan

LINCOLN, Neb. — The middle distance and distance runners turned in a solid effort to lead the Simpson women's track and field teams at the Nebraska Wesleyan Prairie Wolf Invitational on Friday.

Courtney Neuendorf, Rebekah Brainard and Sadie Timms had top-10 performances for the Storm, who were competing for the first time in 2017. No team scores were kept.

Neuendorf ran to a sixth-place finish in the 3,000 meters, clocking in at 10:48.12 in her first time running the event. 

Brainard added a sixth-place effort in 1,000 meters, finishing in 3:48.02.

Timms ran a personal-best 5:23.33 in the 1 mile run to place seventh.

Simpson will take part in the UNI Jack Jennett Invitational on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 26-27.
