Neuendorf leads Storm women at Wartburg Select

WAVERLY, Iowa — Courtney Neuendorf posted a personal-best effort in the Mile run to lead the Simpson women's track and field team at the Wartburg Indoor Select on Saturday.

Neuendorf placed sixth in the Mile, running 5:26.83 to post her fastest time since running a 5:27.99 at Grinnell on Feb. 13, 2016. She also ran the 800 meters, placing 21st in 2:37.37.

Alex Niemier had a career-best effort in the shot put with a heave of 37-feet, 6-inches to place 11th, the Storm's top finish in the field events. She also took 27th in the weight throw.

The Storm also got top-20 individual efforts from Audrey LoVan, Bre Waugh, Sadie Timms and Jessica Lamb. LoVan took 12th in the pole vault, Waugh came in 14th in the 400 meters, Timms finished 16th in the 3,000 meters and Lamb placed 18th in the 800 meters.
