McCloskey, 4x800 lead Storm at IIAC Championship

STORM LAKE, Iowa — Briana McCloskey ran to an eighth-place finish in the 10,000 meters and the 4x800 relay team took sixth place to lead the Simpson women's track and field team on the second day of the 2017 Iowa Conference Championships.

McCloskey ran 41:41.50 in the 10,000 meters to earn a point for the Storm. The 4x800 team of Audrey Klein, Jessica Lamb, Courtney Neuendorf and Lesley Roquet ran 10:06.32 to account for the rest of the team points.

Elizabeth Burgus posted a personal-best to place 10th in the 400 (60.86) and Alex Niemier had a season-best heave in the shot put to place 11th (38-9). Audrey Klein ran a career-best 2:25.15 to take 12th in the 800.

UP NEXT
The meet concludes Saturday at J. Leslie Rollins Stadium. Field events begin at 10 a.m. with running events getting underway at 1:30 p.m.
