Neuendorf, Timms lead Storm at Grinnell

GRINNELL, Iowa — Courtney Neuendorf logged school top-five mark in the 3,000 meters and Sadie Timms had a personal-best in the Mile to lead four top-10 finishes for the Simpson women's track and field team at Grinnell's Darren Young Invitational on Saturday at Bear Athletic Center.

Neuendorf had the Storm's top finish of the day, taking fourth in the 3,000 meters. She posted a personal-best time of 10:37.59, the fourth-fastest effort in school history and fastest by a Storm runner since 2010.

Timms came in eighth in the Mile, posting a personal-best time of 5:25.50. She bested her previous record by more than 5 seconds.

Alex Niemier and Audrey LoVan added a pair of top-10 efforts in the field events. Niemier earned an eighth-place finish in the shot put with a heave of 36-feet, 2 1/4 inches while LoVan came in 10th in the pole vault after clearing 8-feet, 8 1/4 inches.

UP NEXT
Simpson's final tune-up before the IIAC Indoor Championships, the Storm travel to Pella on Friday, Feb. 11 for a dual meet with Central.
