McChesney tallies two victories to lead Simpson grapplers
DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Junior Dylan McChesney collected two victories on Saturday to lead the Simpson College wrestling team against Dubuque and No. 9 Loras.
The Storm (1-5, 1-5 A-R-C) dropped their opener 44-3 to the Duhawks (3-2, 2-0 A-R-C) before falling 41-9 to the Spartans (2-2, 2-2 A-R-C) to close out competition against a pair of American Rivers Conference squads.
McChesney started his day with a slim 9-8 decision over Dubuque's Jared Hensley at 125 pounds. The Northglenn, Colorado native closed the afternoon by pinning Loras' Cade Hornback in 1:24 for his second fall of the season. McChesney now has five victories to start the season.
Junior Shyler Langley picked up Simpson's second victory against the Spartans coming in a 10-5 decision in the 174-pound division. Langley's score was boosted by four takedowns against Dubuque's Logan Sears.
Freshman Cael Cunningham appeared on the mat for the first time in his Storm career at 133 pounds, but dropped his match against the Duhawks' Zach Licht.
