INDIANOLA, Iowa - Chad Boston scored 19 points and Simpson committed a season-low seven turnovers in a 76-60 win over Coe on Wednesday night at Cowles Fieldhouse.

Boston added eight rebounds and six assists for the Storm (9-10, 6-5 Iowa Conference), who won for the fifth time in six games and snapped a four-game losing streak in the series. Simpson gave up 90 points in the first meeting this season.

"This is the most frustrating team I've ever coached," head coach Charles Zanders joked. "We can score with anybody. Some nights we bring it defensively and some nights we don't. When we decide to play defense, we're pretty good. When we don't, we're pretty awful."

Drew Bentley scored 13 points on 3 of 6 shooting beyond the arc and newcomer AJ Arrington came off the bench to score 10 of his 12 in the first half.

Arrington, who transferred to Simpson for the start of the second semester, took some time to assimilate but now gives Simpson an added dimension offensively.

"It started off hard [to adjust] because it was a different system," Arrington said. "Playing a couple of games and practicing developed chemistry and got me ready to contribute."

JT Vonderhaar scored 12 points to lead the Kohawks (14-7, 8-4), who dropped from second-place in the conference to fourth with the loss. Seth Light added 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Simpson led by four in the first half before closing the period on a 22-8 run. Zack Barragan started the run and Arrington scored the next eight points to take a 42-24 lead at the break.

"He gives us a different dynamic," Zanders said of Arrington. "AJ comes with the power game where he can post you up, shoot jumpers ... he's very versatile in the post. Because he's so versatile and starting to learn our system, he's starting to get more minutes. You're just seeing the tip of the ice burg."

Boston knifed through the Coe defense in the second half, scoring all 10 of his points at the rim.

"I think Chad may be the most athletic player in the conference," Zanders said. "He's extremely difficult to defend and can score anytime he wants to."

Simpson scored 15 points off 15 Coe turnovers and outscored the Kohawks 42-34 in the paint.

Next up for the Storm is a meeting with conference co-leader, Luther, on Saturday, Feb. 4. Tipoff is set for 4 p.m. in Decorah.
