Men's track and field in seventh at IIACs

MT. VERNON, Iowa – Brad Vogel qualified for the finals in the 60-meter dash, leading the Simpson men's track and field team on the first day of the Iowa Conference Indoor Championships.

Simpson sits in seventh place after day one with 10 points.

Vogel  took third in the prelims, crossing the finish line in a season-best time of 7.03. He will run in the finals tomorrow.

Simpson's next-best finish came in the distance medley relay. The team of Matt Stone, Ben Coy, Brandon Christensen and Joe Farrand took fourth, finishing in a season-best time of 10:38.09.

Logan Klein had Simpson's other top-eight finish, taking seventh in the long jump (20-8).
