Kehrli, Savaria place top three at Waldorf Open

FOREST CITY, Iowa – Securing two top-three placings, Keeley Kehrli and Kassidee Savaria led the way for the Simpson College women's wrestling team at the Waldorf Open.

Kehrli cruised to the semifinals with three consecutive pins in the first period. She won by decision over Iowa Western's Ferny Hernandez before falling 10-0 to Nina Makem (Augsburg) in the title bout.

Savaria picked up a pin of her own as well as three technical falls, including back-to-back 10-0 wins over Kami Senlycki (Wartburg) and Iasiah Turrentine (Iowa Western) in the consolation semifinals and third place match. She improves to 7-2 on the year.

Other placewinners for the Storm included Brooklyn Garza (4th), Josephine Wearmouth (6th) and Lily McMahon (6th).
