MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Simpson College women's volleyball team was swept by Cornell in Friday's nonconference action.
The Rams (9-4) had an efficient hitting night, committing just nine errors in 99 attempts (.293). They took the first set 25-20, won a back-and-forth second set by a score of 25-21 and finished the straight-set victory with a dominating 25-9 win in the third frame.
Jada Schmidt led the Storm (4-14) with 13 kills, her fifth game this season with double-digit kills. She knocked down seven kills in the first set, made zero errors in 14 attempts in the second and was the lone player to record a kill for the Storm in the third.
