Simpson swimming and diving teams compile academic honors

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- For the 16-straight semester, the Simpson College women's swimming and diving team is selected to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Team, while the men earn the honor for 13th time during that span.

"We have always put a high priority on academics," head coach Tom Caccia said. "I'm very proud of our success and tradition in the classroom and beyond."

The Storm men produced a 3.58 grade-point average, while the women boasted a 3.24 GPA during the Fall 2020 semester among the 450 programs that received the academic honor.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.

Simpson hosts the College of Saint Mary and Nebraska Wesleyan on Friday for its only home event of the season. Action will be streamed live through SimpsonAthletics.com as the meet begins at 6 p.m. from inside the Indianola YMCA.
