Storm drop one-goal decision at Wis.-Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. — An early goal by Bianca Mahoney stood up as the game winner as Wis.-Platteville handed the Simpson women's soccer team a tough, 1-0 loss Sunday.

Mahoney found the back of the net in the 20th minute and Simpson couldn't equalize as the Pioneers (1-2) earned their first win of the season.

The Storm (0-3) had an opportunity mid-way through the first half when Victoria Jordan rifled a shot off the crossbar that was cleared by the Pioneer back line. Jordan provided pressure again in the 34th minute with a header that was cleared off the post by the Platteville defense.

Riley Adams made three saves in goal for the Storm.

Coach Speak
