INDIANOLA, Iowa – Freshman Brett Roberts highlighted Simpson's day at its own Wrestling Invitational as the Storm finished 11th of 12 teams on Saturday.

Roberts finished the day as Simpson's only placewinner, going 4-2 in the 174-pound bracket to place fifth. The freshman went 3-1 on the back side of the bracket after losing his second match of the day.

After picking up a major decision in the first round, Roberts suffered a tough 6-0 loss to Cody Swim (Grand View). He won back-to-back decisions on the back side of the bracket before dropping a 1-0 decision to eventual third-place finisher, Ethan Ball (Coe). In the fifth-place match, Roberts notched a 10-5 win over Trey Hable (South Dakota State).

Andrew de Regnier posted a pair of wins while competing in the 197-pound bracket. The freshman pinned Forrest Marx (Northwestern – Iowa) in his first match before suffering a 4-3, double-overtime loss in round two. His second win came by way of a medical forfeit.

Grand View – ranked No. 1 in NAIA – won the tournament going away with 223.5 points, besting Wartburg – the top-ranked team in NCAA Division III – which finished second with 158.5 points. The fourth-ranked team in Division III, Coe took third with 142.5 points.
