Multiple Storm shooters place high at Iowa championships

WAUKEE, Iowa - Multiple members of the Simpson College shooting sports team placed highly at the Iowa 4-Year Collegiate Championship at the New Pioneer Gun Club.

As a team, the Storm took third place overall. Simpson also placed in the top three in two events, taking third in the sporting category with 334 points and earning second place in skeet with 455 points.

Breydon Paxson claimed the individual gold in men's trap, scoring a 99 out of a possible 100 points. Paxson took fourth overall, adding another top five finish in the sporting discipline with a score of 76.

For the women, Anna Lopez took third in women's trap with a score of 91. Victoria Barksdale also claimed a top-five finish in women's sporting, shooting a 66. Overall, Lopez claimed a fifth-place finish on the women's side out of 23 competitors, shooting an aggregate score of 239.

Paxson, Lopez, and Riley Ericson all finished in the top five of each of the three disclipines for the Storm, as well claiming the first three HOA spots, respectively.
