Storm picked sixth in preseason poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The American Rivers Conference announced the Men's Golf Preseason Coaches Poll this Thursday afternoon.

The Simpson men's golf team has been picked to finish sixth in the conference preseason poll after a successful fall season that included a win at the Buena Vista Invite. The Storm are voted sixth ahead of Coe, Loras, and Buena Vista, and just seven points behind Central.

The Storm received 27 points in the poll, a leap upward from their preseason placement last year. In the 2023-24 season, the Storm were picked to finish eighth in the conference, receiving only 16 points in the poll.

2024 IN REVIEW

  • The Storm finished in sixth place in the conference meet, reaching as high as fourth place throughout the weekend.
  • The Storm had three top-5 team finishes during the 2023-24 spring season, taking second at the Storm Spring Classic, third at the RedTail Spring Shootout, and fifth at the Shenandoah Spring Fling.
  • In the conference meet, Simpson finished ahead of Buena Vista, Coe, and Loras, and fell just three strokes off of fifth place.
  • Simpson returns all six of their top-six golfers from the 2024 season for their 2025 season.
