Storm take seventh at Grand View Invitational, concluding fall season
ANKENY, Iowa – The Storm took to the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny this week to face off in the Grand View Invitational against 11 opponents. After two rounds of play, Simpson finished seventh overall. Impressive performances by Avin Legg and Max Trembly led the team to their finish this week.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- On day one of the tournament, Blake Perrin shot the best for the Storm, finishing his day just four over par with his 75. Perrin had birdies on the first, twelfth, and sixteenth holes to solidify his performance.
- Avin Legg and Max Trembly followed close behind on day one, each of them recording a 77 stroke round.
- On day two, Avin Legg, Max Trembly, and independent golfer Taylor Plagge all scored a 74, just three strokes over par.
- Day two was marked by an eagle on hole five for Avin Legg, and a birdie that he made shortly after on hole seven.
- Over the course of the weekend, the Simpson Storm scored 13 birdies and one eagle.
