Storm defend home course, taking home two top-three team finishes
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Storm men took to the Indianola Country Club to compete in their home fall invitational on Wednesday. The team achieved two top-three team finishes, as well as three top-ten individual finishes.
Both the Simpson A and B teams finished in the top-three, shooting a 316 and a 320, respectively. Avin Legg placed highest for the Storm, shooting a 77 and placing third overall. Brad Kofoed and Jack Wahman both tied for seventh place with scores of 78 for each.
Simpson recorded 16 birdies on the day with Brad Kofoed and Jack Wahman leading the way, contributing three birdies each. Avin Legg and Johnathon Terpstra each recorded two birdies, and multiple other golfers contributed one birdie to the scorecard.
Avin Legg's third place finish is his highest career finish for the Storm, defeating his sixth place finish that he attained last April in the Storm Spring Classic. Additionally, Brad Kofoed's seventh place finish is his highest career finish as well, placing higher than his previous record of eight place this September at the BVU Fall Invite.
The Storm's second place finish follows a strong two weeks of competition from the golfers, coming after a third place and a first place finish. The Storm have not had three top-three finishes in a season since the 2016-2017 season when the team had five top-three finishes.
