Hutchins leads Simpson to best IIAC finish since 2007

PEOSTA, Iowa – Andy Hutchins placed fifth individually and the Simpson men's golf team shot 308 in the final round, taking fourth place at the 2015 Iowa Conference Championship from Thunder Hills Country Club.

Hutchins carded a 5-over 76 in the final round, closing the weekend at 299. Hutchins turned in the best 72-hole score by a Simpson golfer at the IIAC Tournament since 2005, as Simpson posted its highest team finish since taking third in 2007.

Entering the final round in a tie for second with Dubuque, the Storm finished three strokes behind Dubuque and seven back of Wartburg. Central ran away with the title, besting the field by 29 strokes.

Trent Lindenman joined Hutchins with All-Iowa Conference honors, finishing tied for 10th after carding a 78 on Saturday. Lindenman closed the weekend with a 305, earning his second All-IIAC accolade. He also tied for 10th in 2014.

Jimmy Siebert came in 21st after shooting a 77 on Saturday while Shaan Desai and Nathan Molstead tied for 22nd. Desai carded a 77 on Molstead turned in a 78.
