Lindenman wins Dubuque Invite, men's golf takes second as a team

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Trent Lindenman pulled away from the field Sunday to earn medalist honors at the Dubuque Fall Invitational and help Simpson to a second-place team finish.

Lindenman tied a career-best round by carding a 1-under 69 in Sunday's final round, giving him 141 for the weekend and a six-stroke win over Ned Rohrbach of Carleton.

Lindenman led Rohrbach by two strokes after shooting a 72 on Saturday at Dubuque Golf and Country Club. The junior's 72 average this fall is among the top three in the Iowa Conference.

Simpson shot 308 as a team on Sunday, finishing the weekend with 618, six strokes behind team champion Clarke. Augustana was a stroke back of Simpson at 619.

Andy Hutchins tied for 14th overall, shooting 157 (77-80) for the weekend. Shaan Desai came in 16th (79-79-158), Nathan Molstead tied for 24th (82-80-162) and Korbin Sesker placed 32nd (84-86-170) to round out Simpson's lineup.
