Lindsay Taylor hired as dance coach

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Simpson alum Lindsay Taylor has been hired as the next head coach of the Storm dance team, Director of Athletics Bob Nutgrass announced.

"We are very happy to have Lindsay join our athletic family once again, this time as our head dance coach," Nutgrass said. "We are excited that Lindsay will bring years of experience in technical work and choreography to our dance team. She will be wonderful to help grow our dance team and continue the high level of performance and competition. I would like to thank Paige Ahrens for her years of hard work to bring our dance team to a new level."

The 2016 alum is currently the head dance coach at Indianola High School and has served in that role since 2017. Along with coaching at Indianola, Taylor taught dance for several years at a studio near her hometown in Omaha, Neb.

"As a former member of the Simpson dance team, I am extremely excited for the opportunity to be back as an alumna leading a team that gave so much to me when I was a student," Taylor said. "SCDT has a strong history of state and conference titles, and I am eager to jump in and see what we can accomplish this year. It feels great to be coming home and I cannot wait to get started."

Taylor graduated from Simpson with a degree in marketing and a minor in human resources. She was a four-year member of the dance team and served as captain during her senior season as well as choreographed many performance routines. Taylor also earned a letter in track and field during her time at Simpson.
