ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Simpson volleyball team dropped its first two matches at the Augustana Pumpkin Bash on Friday, losing to Wheaton 3-0 and Carthage 3-1.
Facing teams with a combined 41-19 record, the Storm (14-9) lost to Wheaton 25-22, 25-12, 25-17 and Carthage 18-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-19.
Wheaton improved to 22-9 with the win while Carthage is now 19-10.
Simpson closes play at the Pumpkin Bash on Saturday when it plays William Penn and host-school, Augustana.
