DUBUQUE, Iowa – Morgan Terpstra turned in a monster performance and the Simpson volleyball team had seven more kills but it was Loras that came away with a 3-0 (25-23, 25-22, 25-21) win on Wednesday night.
Kara Grant had a match-high 11 kills to lead the Duhawks (9-11, 3-2 Iowa Conference), who won on their home floor for the first time this season.
Terpstra finished with 10 kills and just one error in 16 attempts for a match-high .562 attack percentage. Kat Wetjen added 10 kills and Tabitha Blaser had nine for the Storm (14-4, 2-3), who had 42 kills as a team to Loras' 35.
With two conference contests remaining – at Coe and against Dubuque – the Storm sit in a tie for fourth place in the league standings.
A short weekend awaits, as the Storm travel to Platteville, Wis. for the UW-Platteville Triangular on Friday, Oct. 18. Simpson will take on UW-La Crosse and the host Pioneers.
