Women's swimmers compete at Mutual of Omaha Invite
OMAHA - Keely Goshia turned in a pair of top-20 finishes, leading Simpson at the 2010 Mutual of Omaha Invitational held Friday and Saturday.
Competing against programs from throughout the midwest, the Storm placed ninth of nine teams at the two-day meet.
A sophomore, Goshia paced Simpson on the weekend, placing in the top-20 in two events. Her best finish came in the 200-yard butterfly, placing 17th (2:39.00). She also took 20th in the 200 IM (2:28.91).
Catherine Mayes had solid performances in the 500-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. She took 23rd in the 500 free and came in 24th in the 100 backstroke.
Anna Aldridge and Stacy Sturlaugson registered a pair of 27th place finishes. Aldridge's came in the 100 freestyle (1:00.26) and Sturlaugson got hers in the 100 backstroke (1:17.77).
The swimmers will be back in action next Friday when they travel to Cedar Rapids for a dual with Coe at 8 p.m.
