Storm show improvement at Buena Vista Invitational

STORM LAKE, Iowa -- Emily Jansen, Averi Peck and Megan Crockett all finished within three strokes of each other as the Simpson women's golf team competed in the Buena Vista Invitational on Saturday.

Lake Creek Golf Course played host to 10 teams for the invite, with Wartburg taking the top honors. The Storm shot a 383 as a unit to place ninth.

Jansen paced the team by carding a 92 to just miss tying her season-best score by two strokes. Peck trimmed 18 shots off of her score from last weekend's competition to shoot a 94. Crockett tallied a 95 to notch her best result of her career for the Storm.

Freshmen Sydney Stephenson and Hannah Mulligan ended fourth and fifth, respectively, for Simpson.

The Storm return to action on Wednesday for the Simpson Invitational. The match is set to begin at 10 a.m. at the Indianola Country Club.
