Track & Field goes to IIAC Championships on Friday

The Simpson track and field teams will compete in the 2014 Iowa Conference Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 9 at Carlson Stadium in Decorah, Iowa.

What to Watch on the men's side

• The defending champion in the 55-meter dash indoors, sprinter Brad Vogel comes into the meet with the conference's top times in the 100 (10.66) and 200 (21.85).
• Brice Sheeder looks to improve upon last year's sixth-place finish in the open 400, coming into the weekend with the conference's fifth-fastest effort (50.45).
• Freshman Trevor McKee owns the No. 5 time in the conference in the 400 hurdles (56.46).

What to Watch on the women's side

• Last year's third-place finisher outdoors and the second-place finisher in the indoor 55-meter hurdles this year, Bayley Fleshnerhas high hopes in the 100-meter hurdles. Her season-best is 14.92, good for third in the conference
• The duo of Shelby King and Breanna Gaster looks to make noise in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. King scored points with an eighth-place finish at last year's championships and Gaster owns the No. 7 time in the conference this year.
