Storm fall on road to Buena Vista
STORM LAKE, Iowa - The Simpson College men's tennis team returned to conference play on Wednesday afternoon, but fell to Buena Vista on the road.
The Beavers (2-7, 1-0 A-R-C) took a 3-0 lead into singles. The duo of Javier Robles Solis and Grant Love played tough at the No. 1 spot, but narrowly lost by a score of 8-6.
Buena Vista claimed the match early on in singles with wins at No. 4 and No. 5 singles, but Robles Solis and Love each won their singles matches.
Robles Solis swept past his opponent at the No. 1 spot, 6-2, 6-2, while Love also won in straight sets at No. 3 singles, including blanking his opponent in the first set. The Beavers picked up a straight-set win at the No. 2 spot to conclude the overall match.
