Men’s tennis conference preseason poll released
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - The American Rivers Conference announced the release of the Men's Tennis Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday afternoon.
The Storm return three players from last year's roster, bringing in two newcomers to round off the squad. "We have a young team with two freshman," said Storm head coach Matt Price. "It will be exciting to see the young players grow through the challenges we will face with a competitive conference."
LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
- The Storm went 2-6 in conference play last season, defeating Buena Vista and Dubuque.
- Javier Robles Solis received all-conference honorable mention honors, going 4-4 in singles in conference play at the No. 2 spot for the Storm.
- Drake Downard earned A-R-C Player of the Week honors for the Storm, at one point winning six straight doubles and three straight singles matches.
- Downard finished 8-8 in dual match play in singles at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots and also sported a 10-7 doubles record.
- Aaron Price and Zachary Ambrose each advanced to the round of 16 in their respective brackets at the A-R-C Individual Tournament.
