Storm drop pair of matches away from home
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - The Simpson College men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday at host Cornell College.
Drake Downard took his opponent in the first match against Cornell to tiebreaks in each set at No. 2 singles, but narrowly dropped each. Grant Love took the second set of his match at No. 3 doubles, but succumbed in a tight third-set tiebreaker, 10-7.
Love teamed with Javier Robles Solis at No. 1 doubles against St. Ambrose in the team's second match. The team forced a deciding game at 7-7, but St. Ambrose's No. 1 duo came up with the 8-7 win.
UP NEXT
The Storm head to Elsah, Ill. to take on Illinois College and host Prinicpia next Saturday.
