Men end day two of Liberal Arts Championships

ELSAH, Ill. -- On the second night of the Liberal Arts Championships, hosted by Principia College, the Simpson swimming and diving teams compiled three top-10 performances on Thursday.

The Storm women are currently in 10th place and the men sit eighth with two more days of competition left on the docket.

Alyssa Harris hit the wall in 2:21.51 to grab eighth in the 200-yard individual medley to retrieve the best placing on the day in an individual event for Simpson. Harris ended eighth in the prelims to advance to the final round.

The 400-medley relay of Madison DePover, Katie Cardoza, Caroline Oberg and Harris ended eighth as well to score 14 points. The quartet finished in 4:25.50 to pass the team's previous best of 4:33.22. The same group tallied 10th in the 200-yard freestyle relay and trimmed two seconds off the previous best.

On the men's side, Danny Turner produced a 14th-place nod in the 50-yard freestyle in his only event. Turner's time of 23.01 is a new career best for the freshman. Austin Andes added a 27th-place result in the same event for a new career high of 23.77.
