Nelson continues onslaught in Loras loss

INDIANOLA, Iowa -- Noah Nelson continued his record-breaking streak in the pool and added wins with Blake Kakacek to tally a 127-83 loss for the Simpson men's swimming and diving team to the Loras Duhawks at the Indianola YMCA on Friday, Nov. 17.

Nelson slaughtered his previous record in the 1000 freestyle by 16.11 seconds, setting the mark now at 10:00.62. He holds five different records - 200, 500 and 1,000 freestyle, 200 breastroke and 200 IM, breaking the 1,000 freestyle and 200 IM twice.

Nelson added on a second win of the night in the 500 freestyle clocking in at 4:53.49, .02 from his school record. Kakacek tacked on the third win of the night in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall at 1:03.09.
