Hansen named IIAC Performer of the Week

INDIANOLA, Iowa - Simpson's JJ Hansen went a perfect 4-0 in diving competitiion during the week ending Sunday, Jan. 10 en route to earning his first Iowa Conference Performer of the Week honor, as announced by the league office.

A senior from Bellingham, Wash., Hansen won the 1- and 3-meter diving events in Simpson's dual against Austin College (Texas) on Thursday, Jan. 7 then won the same two events Saturday, Jan. 9 at the Austin College Invitational. In the Austin dual, he scored 182.75 points in the 1-meter competition and 158.00 in the 3-meters. At the Invitational he scored 160.65 and 176.50 points, respectively.

The school record holder in both events, Hansen has now won six diving events on the season, three at each height. He becomes the first Storm swimmer or diver to win the honor since Kyle McKim on December 14, 2014.
