Swimming teams earn second academic honor of 2015-16

The Simpson swimming and diving program has earned Scholar All-America Team honors for the 2016 spring semester, as announced by The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA).

The Simpson swimming and diving teams completed their trip to Texas at the Austin College Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 9, turning a pair of solid performances. The women turned in seven top-three efforts to place second by one point and the men got a sweep from diver JJ Hansen to take fifth.

The Simpson swimming and diving teams opened their trip to Texas on Thursday with a dual meet against Austin College. In the first action in more than a month, the women dropped a close 117-110 decision while the men fell 136-77. The teams won eight events combined, five coming from the women’s team.
