Strong second half leads Wartburg past Storm

INDIANOLA - Luke Prater netted two goals as part of a three-goal effort in the second half by Wartburg as the Knights beat Simpson 3-0 in the regular season finale.

The Knights (10-7, 7-1 IIAC) earned a share of the Iowa Conference title with the win, while Simpson was left outside of the six-team Iowa Conference Tournament.

Prater's first goal came four minutes into the second half, when he struck an offering from Eric Peters into the left net. Brandon Cook made the score 2-0 with his goal from 12 yards out in the 72nd minute and Prater finished the scoring from the left wing in the 75th minute.

The Storm (5-12, 2-6 IIAC) played evenly with Wartburg throughout the first half, taking seven shots and putting three on goal. Wartburg out-shot Simpson 22-13 on the evening.

Luke Aronow made seven saves in goal for Simpson. His counterpart, Brandon Busbee made six saves for Wartburg.
