STORM LAKE, Iowa - An own goal by Buena Vista in the 70th minute gave Simpson a 3-2 win at Buena Vista on Wednesday.
With the game tied 2-2, Buena Vista knocked the ball into their own goal, helping Simpson complete a comeback after being down 2-1 at halftime.
The Storm (4-7, 1-1 IIAC) snapped a three-match losing streak, getting goals from Lucas Haack (Ankeny, Iowa) and AJ George (Nevada, Iowa). Haack put Simpson on the board in the 10th minute before Eric Karita netted a pair of goals in the 15th and 17th minutes to give the Beavers (5-7, 1-2 IIAC) a 2-1 lead.
Simpson trailed six minutes into the second frame before George tied the contest with his second goal of the season.
Luke Aronow (Ankeny, Iowa) made one save in the win.
Simpson ends a four-match road trip Saturday when it meets Cornell in Mt. Vernon at 1 p.m.
