Simpson travels east for ECAC Championships
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Simpson College men's gymnastics team closed out team competition at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Springfield.
The Storm improved upon their score from last year's league championships in all but one event and finished the day with an all-around mark of 360.950, nearly 15 points better than in 2023.
Brian Rollison led Simpson on both rings (12.200) and high bar (12.100), while Alex Catchpole was the Storm's top scorer on pommel horse (12.400) and parallel bars (13.300). Milo Staley was Simpson's leader on vault (13.700) and Michelangelo Villani earned a team-best 12.500 on floor while also compiling an all-around score of 71.750 to finish one place shy of all-conference honors.
Navy was the lone team to surpass 400 team points, claiming a sixth consecutive conference title with a score of 401.450. Greenville finished second in the team race with a 393.000 and Springfield was close behind in third with a 392.050. Army (390.900), William & Mary (387.800) and Simpson (360.950) rounded out the final three.
